Hello everyone and welcome to The-DIY-Site!

This site was created for a very simple reason.  About a year ago, my wife, Jessica and I bought our first home.  There were lots of things we wanted to do to the house.  But, I mean, how do you take a HUGE investment like a house and change things?  The mistakes could be costly and only a professional should be trusted to do the work.  This was my frame of mind at the time.

I soon realized that I could do just about anything myself.  I am not an expert.  So, this will be as much a learning experience for me as it will be for you, the reader.  There are things I have already done successfully.  They may not be conventional and they’re certainly not the only way to do the same thing.  The way I did them just worked for me.

For the things I haven’t tried to do yet, I will research and interpret my research here in plain text.  This should be fun to both write and read other’s opinions, methods and experiences.  Please feel free to comment on anything written, either positive or negative, we’re all here to learn!
