As you can tell by my profession, I am certainly not an electrician, carpenter or contractor of any kind. This was the main motivation behind creating this site. If you have tried to price an electrician to come and replace a plug (about $35/hr here in Texas) or hire a landscape person to come out and tend to your beds ($100+/time out), the costs really add up.
In today’s economy, we should all be hanging on to every dime we can muster. If you just have an abundance of money and don’t mind paying someone to do something that you could do, by all means, support the local economy. But for those of us that could find a better way to use $35, then this site is going to attempt to help you do that.
Some of the things talked about on this site may be strictly regional or specific to my area. I will try my best to note where I know this to be true. As I said before, I do not have a craft or trade of any kind. So, please, before doing EVERYTHING I put in my posts, check with your local building codes. They could vary significantly in your area.
